1929 Movie Soundtrack "NEW ORLEANS"
This is a soundtrack for an early 'talkies' movie NEW ORLEANS where the
soundtrack was on 16" discs and synchronized to play with the reels of the
film. Each side of the disc corresponded with a reel of the movie. This
particular soundtrack may be unique as no other disc soundtrack for this movie has
surfaced yet.
Saga of Mr Jelly Lord - 1938
This is a collection of numbered limited edition 78 rpm record albums issued
by Circle records in 1947 featuring the Library of Congress recordings of
Jelly Roll Morton from 1938. They were issued on 12" red vinylite records in
a 12 album set. Each album had 3 or 4 records for a total of 45 records in
the whole set. These sets were sold by subscription only and 2 albums were
released every 3 months. The subscription cost $120, which was a lot of money
in 1947. This is set No. 327, the highest numbered set known to date, and
was sold by the Yerba Buena Music Shop in Oakland, California.
Edison Amberola C-VI
A rare cylinder phonograph produced only a couple months in 1914, then the
factory burned down and destroyed them all! Only examples of these machines
known today are from the few that were shipped from the factory before it
burned down. A hard to find machine!

Chicago Jazz Classics

group of studio musicians featuring Benny Goodman with Glenn Miller, Bud
Freeman, Wingy Manone, Jimmy McPartland and others, here re-issued in a
4 record album set by Brunswick c.1947. Enjoy!

This is 1930 blues recordings by Victoria Spivey as Jane Lucas with
'Georgia' Tom Dorsey and Tampa Red (The Hokum Boys). Great blues!
